Great way to get to and from Seward AK from Anchorage. The train is 4+ hours but well worth the time. Lots of scenery to see and the train slows down for the main sites. Nice sit down meals also served on the train. You can drive this quicker but it was nice to let someone else do the drive.
Loved it. Jeremy was great and our server in the dining car was fantastic. Everyone was friendly. Very clean. Conductor wonderful. Absolutely!!!!
On our first trip to Alaska, my wife and I booked the "14 hour round trip from Anchorage to Seward", via the Alaska Railroad. What a fabulous way to see the grandeur of our 49th State! The train itself is amazingly clean, inside and out, brightly colored and very comfortable. All the long trip amenities are there as well, such as a full dining car, a bistro car, outside and inside observation cars and a crew of narrators to inform you of what you see and spot wildlife along the route. If you only heard from "Conductor Warren", you would get a masters education on Alaska and on the railroad, given his 40+ years in both. But multiple narrators provide a history and viewing of such a unique place. This is a very family-friendly adventure but also affords a couple of any age a respite from the hectic pace of life in a most beautiful location! I heartily endorse this experience to you!
I cried about getting up very early catching the only train to Seward. My tears soon turn joy, and I was glued to the beautiful scenery for the entire trip. Watching sunrise over these majestic mountains and discover the wild lives. The ride was comfortable. There a snack bar and a restaurant attached to the train. The ranger on board is very knowledgeable and the conductor is very quick spotting moose roaming the valley. This is one of the most beautiful train ride I have had. And it’s a must coming to Alaska.
I thoroughly enjoyed the train ride through some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. The trip was relaxing and very informative. Would highly recommend to all.
