Stop At: Grove Arcade, 1 Page Ave, Asheville, NC 28801-2382

Stop At: Basilica of Saint Lawrence, 97 Haywood St, Asheville, NC 28801-2852

This building's architect is entombed in the wall of this church, and his apparition is seen roaming in the night, gazing, in awe, at the world-class dome he constructed with a secret method.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Thomas Wolfe Memorial, 52 N Market St, Asheville, NC 28801-8105

The spirits of the great author (Look Homeward, Angel), and his brother, roam the halls of this storied mansion. Thomas Wolfe even wrote about spirits before he died at age 37. Wait till you hear the full story!

  • This was a great tour. The guide was very hyper and enjoyed his topic. We learned history along with ghost stories. In trying to remember a place to eat, we used one of his ghost stories to find the place! This tour is a must for first visitors to Asheville.

  • First off I would just like to say the tour guide "Tad" was amazing. His knowledge, humor, and personality make for such a great experience! I live in Asheville and learned so much I didn't know! I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

  • Our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Could have done without the museum tour.

  • I've been on three ghost walking tours and this one was the best. The tour guide I didn't catch his name was enthusiastic and genuinely interested in the subject matter. He has a degree in Anthropology which influenced his telling of incidents which happened in Asheville. Even if you are a nonbeliever, I think you would still enjoy the walk as the guide had an excellent knowledge of Asheville's history.

  • Had so much fun. It was historical and memorable. Loved the history of the city as we were going through the tour.

  • Great guide, very entertaining and lots of Asheville history included. Highly recommend.

  • My tour was fantastic! Very informative on the history of Asheville and the people who helped. A lot of walking is to be expected, not for the one with walking issues. Definitely wear appropriate shoes for the tour..Please Go!! Well worth it!! Enjoy!!!
