  • Our tour guide Marty was excellent! He was knowledgeable and super-friendly and personable. It was a great way to get a quick overview of Austin.

  • This was a great tour around the city. You get a nice taste of what Austin has to offer. Our tour guide, Ike, was very knowledgeable about the city and its history. He shared wonderful recommendations personalized to our interests. We certainly enjoyed the gelato at the end of the tour! We cannot wait to return again to Austin.

  • We were in Austin for a wedding and decided to make it a long weekend and have a chance to see Austin before heading back to new jersey. We had previously booked trips through Viator, a subsidary of Trip Advisor and were never disappointed. We sure weren't disappointed this time. Our guide Steven was extremeny knowledgeable about Austin and its history. He is also a professional comedian and his presentation was both informative and funny. Our tour of the state capitol building was amazing. Steven also took us through several neighborhoods and explained the significance of eack. Also recommended several places to eat and drink.Great time! I highly recommend it!

  • Highly, highly recommend! Small group which was what we wanted and STEVEN Mc. was a fabulous tour guide. He was funny ( really funny), knowledgeable and his true love of Austin ( home grown boy) came thru. 2 hrs was perfect and covered all the basics. He was also glad to help with all our after tour questions about restaurants, bars, music etc. Much better than the big, impersonal tours for sure!

  • Enjoyed learning a little history of Austin and seeing the different areas. Visited the Capital. Visited some food trucks for a snack and saw some murals.

  • We had never been to Austin so we chose this tour. Michael, our tour guide was great. We enjoyed being introduced to parts of Austin we would not have found on our own. I highly recommend this tour.

  • Bobby was an entertaining guide who knew a lot about Austin kept the whole tour engaged the length of the tour
Would recommend if you need to get an incite on what to do with your time in Austin

  • Tarah made the tour so fun. She knew her stuff, but was also open when she did not. So much info in two hours! It was our first trip to Austin and I truly feel like I understand a lot of the city. Great decision to take this tour!

  • This was an excellent tour and gave a great overview of what Austin is all about. Ross and Matt were very knowledgeable and friendly. Gelato treat was totally unexpected. There is no reason to not find something to do in Austin. Complete spectrum of the Austin culture and history.

  • What a great van tour of Austin. It was our first time there and Joe was an excellent guide. A nice tour of the Capitol and a gelato at one of the famous food trucks.

  • We had a great time on this tour ! Our guide was funny, engaged, and eager to show us the fabulous city of Austin! I made friends on the tour and spent two days seeing the sights with them. We “came to Austin as strangers and left as friends.” Great tour!

  • Jason was our guide and was awesome. We got a great insider's view of Austin. Highly recommend this tour.

  • Stephen was an awesome guide! Learned so much in a short time!
Really enjoyed the tour of the Capitol.

  • This was a great tour to get you familiar with Austin. Our guide Steven was a native of Austin and knew so much background info. The stop for cupcakes was awesome!

  • Great enthusiastic tour guide and small groups work better saw all the sights in Austin and everything was well explained and guide gave email at the end you need any further info or have questions

  • I did this tour with Matt yesterday and it was a great experience! Matt was very knowledgeable and thoughtful and I really got a good feel for Austin. Highly recommended!

  • We had a great experience on our Best of Austin tour with Jax. We were in Austin for a short babymoon and wanted to get a feel for the city but only had a day. Jax was such a fun tour guide and I felt like we really got a flavor for what Austin was like. We really appreciated Jax’s willingness to share recommendations and things to do in Austin for the remainder of our trip. If we had more time, I wouldn’t hesitate at all to book another tour run by Austin Detours. We definitely hope to come back again soon!

  • This tour provided an excellent overview of Austin in a fun and informative format. Our tour guide (Martin) was up-beat, well informed, and presented the information in a entertaining manner. Great value.

  • Excellent for Austin first-timers. Great overview of the city and some awesome hot spots. Michael was a wonderful guide! Recommend!!!

  • The tour was informative and Marty led it at the right pace, with humor, and trying to include everyone in the conversation. Highly recommend him and the tour.

  • You will enjoy this tour and return with your mind full of Austin trivia, your sweet tooth happy and a bevy of new friends. This is an excellent engaging small group van tour of downtown Austin. Tour guide IKE entertained us with interesting facts (and jokes) as we visited historical sites and popular digs while traveling at a comfortable pace. Have your camera ready. IKE will help you capture amazing pics.

  • I'm so glad I was shown this tour as an option to have a 2 hour overview of some Austin highlights. It was nice to have a short overview of the inside and outside of the Capitol....a must see! Our stop for food truck gelato was good. The biggest plus was Bobby, our delightful tour guide. He offered great insights to the city and was warm, funny and very accommodating and helpful. The only less-than-positive comment is that the van was crowded with all seats filled. Thanks again, Bobby!!

  • Was a good way to see part of Austin in 2 hours. Toured the capitol and drove around some eclectic neighborhoods and by University of Texas. Steven was a good guide.
