  • We drove the north loop and it was amazing having someone tell us where to turn and the tour guide was interesting and amusing. Great experience.

  • The info was excellent. The app was easy to use and very accurate because of the great GPS coordination.

  • We are glad that we decided to use Shaka Guide App for our Big Island trip. App works well even in the area without connectivity. It is simple to use and covers a lot of ground.

  • We used this app to tour the whole island. It is a great way to do a self guided tour at your own pace and learn a lot at the same time. We found several hidden gems that we would not have known about were it not for the app. I am not sure why but some of the time it would track our location but not trigger the commentary when it should. I had to manually start the comments. We loved the music.

  • I would give this app a 4 1/2 stars because it is REALLY good. It beats reading all the tour books. The app takes you from turn to turn. I have to admit this is a very smart app. We just love it. We love the stories and culture that were shared. The person behind the app has a terrific voice. The only thing the app can improve on is to be consistent to give the driver a little bit more time (maybe about 30 seconds) before the turn off comes up since it is very easy to miss the turn off. We did miss quite a few. For some turn offs, we did get an advanced notice but not all. Also, it would be nice to always give a heads up whenever there will be a long silence between some highlights so make the drivers more comfortable in knowing what is coming up.

  • It is a good app if you near one of the actual sites. Do not try to use it unless you are actually near one of the markers. But when I could get it to work, I enjoyed it.

  • Hard to use, stops not marked, to much time wasted trying to find the stops. Ended up just driving on my own.

  • It just doesn't work! It' hanging during installation. At the same time you can't get a help if you call during weekend or after 5 pm.
