  • Amazing experience at the summit and the star show after. Definitely cold at the top. They'll provide a jacket but you should still dress warmly. Highly recommended!

  • What a great tour! The guide was the best guide with professional knowledge and kindness. Thanks to him!

  • Nate was awesome! Loved the entire experience. Second best thing I have seen in my life to a total solar eclipse.

  • An amazing overall experience. Our guide, Nate, was great. Being in top of Mauna Kea to experience the sunset above the clouds was memorable in itself but the stargazing afterwards was amazing. Seeing the Milky Way, Venus, Mars, and other constellations so clearly with just your eyes was incredible. They also setup a telescope for closer views. Really a must do it you're on the Big Island.

  • Bronson provided lots of interesting comments throughout the tour, provided warm jackets and gloves, hot chocolate and the Astro photos looked spectacular.

  • My wife and I loved watching the sunset on the summit. Stargazing was something we have never experienced before.

  • Bronson our tour guide was absolutely amazing! The tour itself was incredible, but he made it so much better. Bronson was filled with educational tidbits, stories and suggestions. I would recommend taking this tour with him 100%. Thank you for such a memorable experience.

  • This experience was truly amazing - to watching the sunset above the clouds and then seeing the full moon rise. Everyone was wonderful and we received a plethora of knowledge.
Thanks so much for a great tour

  • Great tour! The guides had lots of experience and knowledge. They were a fun crew! Highly recommend.

  • We had a great time experiencing Mauna Kea sunset with Hunter. He is a knowledgeable guide and photographer

  • There were 4 of us in our party and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the experience. We found Josiah to be prompt, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The sunset was beautiful {I'm not sure your company can take credit for that, but ...:)}, the telescope fun, the Star Show interesting, and we are certainly looking forward to seeing the pictures taken by Hunter. The entire evening was well planned and executed and ended punctually.

  • My family and I went to Hawaii seeking adventure, and the Mauna Kea Summit was a great addition to our plans! Hunter was a fantastic guide...extremely knowledgeable about the mountain, as well as the stars (he gave an awesome lesson on the stars in the sky). The hour drive up the mountain went fast as he gave interesting facts about the area, while we took in the breathtaking views from the bus. At the top of the mountain, the views were like nothing I've seen before. Above the clouds to witness the sunset was incredible. After the sun set, we headed down the mountain a bit but were still high enough above the clouds to have a spectacular star gazing experience. Hunter (with his background in astronomy) was able to point out all of the constellations in the sky with his laser pointer...a great learning experience...
The seven hour tour is a time commitment while on vacation, but certainly time well spent!

  • We were very lucky on a clear night and the domes started opening up and moving around! Great experience!

  • Amazing!! Great guides!! stars were beautiful and we learned a lot about Hawaii culture and the star.

  • Beautiful, fun, and educational! It was a long excursion but well worth it. Very cold at the top, so layers were helpful, and the jackets/gloves/hot chocolate that were provided were appreciated! Guides were knowledgeable and friendly

  • Hunter was incredibly knowledgeable, and it was obvious how much he enjoyed teaching all of us about Hawaii and astronomy. He was attentive and made sure everyone was taken care of. If you get carsick, this is not the tour for you. Be sure to dress warmly. It’s freezing up there!

  • We (including the grumpy teenagers) thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Our guide, Bronson, was super fun and professional. He was so knowledgeable and could answer questions on many topics including geology, astronomy, biology, and the native Hawaiian folklore

  • Bronson (our guide) was so knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the land and the culture of Hawaii, as well as the science of the observations and constellations. I am a high school science teacher (chemistry, physics and astronomy) and he was spot on with all of his explanations.

  • Great tour with 2 amazing tour guides! Sunset was gorgeous and the sky was so clear. We saw so many stars and constellations. The telescope also helped a lot. I strongly advise!

  • Our guide Hunter was so fun and knowledgeable! The sunset was beautiful, and even though there wasn’t a lot of visibility for stars, they still made it worth it for us!

  • Overall amazing experience for anyone that's into summit sunsets and stargazing! The pickup/drop off was on time, the drive there was smooth and our tour guide, Bronson, was very knowledgeable of Mauna Kea and surrounding area. We had a great time and will definitely recommend to others.

  • Our tour guides Hunter and Nate were wonderful. Hunter provided a fantastic review of all the stars and constellations in the night sky. Nate helped us use the telescope to see deep space stars. They were courteous and kind. The views from the top of Mauna Kea before, during, and after sunset were beyond spectacular. We highly recommend the tour.

  • This experience was amazing. It is well worth the price. Our tour guide was Hunter and he was incredibly smart and knowledgeable and and the answer to any question that anyone had. He showed us all the constellations, took photos of us under the stars (complimentary with a professional camera) and not to mention was hilarious! I’ve traveled all over the world and this is by far one of the most amazing things I have ever done. Equally as amazing as seeing the northern lights. If there is something you MUST do on the big island...this is it! Also they provide free hot chocolate, ramen noodles etc.

  • Being above the clouds and seeing all the stars at night was incredible and I really enjoyed the commentary.
