We drive up passed the Waikoloa Dry forest to highway 190, then head up the Daniel K. Inouye Highway to the 2000' elevation of Mauna Kea State Recreation Area.

Activity Details

Party your way up and back to the Mauna Kea / Mauna Loa range in the Big Island Party Bus for an evening of fun seeing the stars at the best and most consistent viewing spot on the island. At our selected spots, enjoy a narrated tour of the night sky, major constellations, planets, galaxies. Our guides will set up telescopes and binoculars and walk you through the highlights of the Hawaiian Night Sky. Enjoy hot chocolate, coffee or tea and use our jackets (provided, since you didn't think you'd need them in Hawaii). Your chances of seeing a shooting star, the Milky Way and stars that you may have never seen are awesome in the middle of the Pacific, which is why Mauna Kea has so many world class observatories. And the bus ride itself is an event. Our "late bus" can be a wild party. Leave the driving to us if you've had a few drinks at dinner...no problem! Our rocking sound system will make the ride itself an event.
