  • Great tour touching on a little history of the island starting at Honokohau Bay that tied into the tour of Mountain Thunder coffee. Also spent time walking through a forest preserve that really provided a contrast to the totally different climates from just a couple miles from the coast. Finishing at the local Ola Brewery was especially interesting to learn about how the local brewery was working closely with and supporting local farmers. The tour itself was very relaxed and timed well. There was plenty of time at each stop, and we were never rushed. Great tour for anyone looking to fill a half-day in Kona. Our tour guide was Aaron, who we had the pleasure of having as a tour guide for the volcano tour a year earlier. Again we were amazed at his knowledge of the local history and culture. This was a relatively small group, so he was especially attentive to our questions and interests. In light he was our tour guide for a larger group last year, we can honestly say he was extremely helpful and observant for both the small and larger groups. Throughout both tours he was bringing to our attention points of interest and facts throughout the trips, so there was always something new and interesting around each corner. Looking forward to the next tour on our next visit to the Big Island, and will definitely be scheduling with Aaron.

  • This is a great way to visit several fun sites around Kona. Our guide Lauren was amazing- full of interesting facts on the history of the Big Island, it’s people and volcanoes. Started with stop at historic beach, then National Park. Really loved trip up to Mountain Thunder Kona Coffee including a tour of their facilities and then a beautiful tour of the where they grow the coffee (including free samples!) Next off for a nature hike through a lush nature preserve before heading back down for lunch and a brewery tour at Ola Brewery. Team there was super friendly and included a tasting of their beers and ciders. Small group tour in a luxury vehicle. Ask for Lauren’s tour. Can’t recommend her highly enough for her fun, outgoing, expertise.
