  • We loved the history and sites but what we really appreciated most was the glimpse into what life was really like. Our guide shared thing like social norms, hairstyles, and friendships between the freedom fighters. Things that may not be included in every history account,

  • Tour guide had a great personality and was auper knowledgeable! My wife and i really enjoyed it! Would highly recommend.

  • Our tour guide “Debra Sampson” was amazing
Super knowledgeable and made the whole experience worth every penny

  • The guide was a knowledgeable historian that could answer all questions and taught me much more about American history. It was very enjoyable.

  • Great experience! The guide was very informative. It was a small group and very personal. I would do it again.

  • The guide and tour were great. If given the option, I would opt for a longer, more inclusive tour and longer times in the old graveyards, also the chance to go inside some of the buildings we were seeing from the outside. Nonetheless, the guide was fun and informative and we learned a lot.

  • Our guide was marvelous. She made the entire tour as interesting and informative as could be. She answered questions as they were presented by group members and was available to speak privately answering questions that might have been of limited interest to the group as a whole. She kept in period mode at all times, which was fun.

  • Lots of history. That was very good. A bit long winded and could be improved by less talking and more walking on the trail

  • Pros: There was a lot of detailed history especially about John Hancock and Sam Adams, which was interesting.

Cons: If you are not a history buff, this tour may not be for you. My high school kids got bored on this tour.

  • We booked the tour with my parents who are in their 70s. It was great fun, really informative and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. There are some places where elderly guests can sit, but they are limited. With a relatively large group you need to keep aware about moving around among regular Bostonians. All in all, great value and a wonderful experience.

  • We were very impressed with our guide. He was knowledgeable, entertaining, and engaging. Our group was quite large. That along with the competing typical city sounds made hearing challenging at times. Limiting the size of the group could help.

  • Steve was a great guide. He threw in a lot of humor and history to keep it interesting. However, Viator put too many people in our group. It was difficult to see, hear, and even walk at times. Very disappointing after having been on several other Viator tours.

  • This wasn’t the tour I was expected. A lot of talking instead of walking. In the first 36 minutes, we walked for 2 minutes and listened 34 minutes of the history of the sites. The rest did not know because we left the tour. If someone is interested in the history that will be a good choice.

  • Guide was extremely knowledgeable but her pacing was too slow. She shared too much and lost our interest as her detail was more than needed. It took us over an hour to get to the granary cemetery, the 2nd stop. We had to leave tour early as there were many more stops.

  • Our guide was knowledgeable, but because of the street noise we couldn’t hear her. Too many people on the tour. They need microphones and smaller groups

  • Our tour guide went into great detail but did not leave room for questions. The tour was informative, but 2.5 hours of standing and walking was tiring for my in-laws. It is probably not best for many younger kids (my 10 and 12 year-olds thought it was too long)

  • There were over 55 people on this walking tour! WAY TOO MANY for crowded Boston streets! The guide was great, but he was constantly competing with the sounds of traffic and construction to make himself heard to such a large group. I recommend going with a different tour company that limits its group sizes to a smaller number.

  • Unfortunately although the tour would have been good there were far too many people on it and we could not hear what the guide was saying most of the time.
It would have been helpful if a microphone/headset had been worn to project his voice.

  • Guide was nice but couldn’t hear her and was supposed to be 1 1/2 hours but at the 1 hour 15 minute mark we had only been to 3 of the 17 sites. So we left. We only allocated 1 1-2 hours for this. Felt like a rip off for our group of 6 - about $180!! REALLY hard to hear…
