Vienna is the capital and also the largest city in the country. German, Hungarian, Slovene, Burgenland, and Croatian are the recognized languages spoken here with German being the official and national language. The government in Austria is known as the Federal parliamentary republic headed by the president of the country. Austria became an integral part of the European Union in 1995. The per capita Gross Domestic Product of the country is quite high due to its well-developed social market economy and a high degree of industrialization. The country is majorly dependent on renewable energy sources to fulfill its energy demands and does so to a high extent, the percentage of electricity generation from the same ranging to around 63%. The rest of the electricity demand is fulfilled by the use of gas and oil. Austria is also well known for its contribution to music and other forms of art.
